I came across this quote from Theodore Roosevelt at Dean's blog, which so aptly applies to courage of people being at start of races like these:

wie immer eine vorzügliche Ultralaufleistung! 250 Meilen, mal so nebenbei. RESPEKT! Langsam brauchst Du mal einen Schuhvertrag.
Mir haben schon die 135,214 Kilometer in Stadtoldendorf gereicht und ich habe danach freiwillig eine Laufpause von einer Woche eingelegt.
